American Legion Auxiliary Non-Traditional Students Scholarship
This is a one-time scholarship award for students that are returning to the classroom after a length of time in which his or her formal education was interrupted, or a student who has had a minimum of one year of college education and needs financial assistance to seek an undergraduate degree. An applicant is required to be a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, or American Legion Auxiliary.
Award: This scholarship is for use during freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior years. This scholarship is not renewable. Number: The number of awards given is 5. Amount: The amount of the award is $1,000.
Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at a two-year or four-year college, or technical school. The applicant or a parent of the applicant is required to be a member of the American Legion or Auxiliary. This scholarship is available to U.S. citizens. The applicant or a parent of the applicant should meet at least one of the following requirements: retired from active military duty; general military experience; prisoner of war; missing in action; or disabled or killed as a result of military service.
Requirements for Application: Application, financial need assessment, essay composition, school transcripts, personal references, and statement of military service of one or more parents. Deadline: March 1.
