American Dream Scholarships
This a one-time, nonrenewable scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior who lives in a county served by Commerce Bank. The student must be anticipating full-time enrollment at an approved two-year or four-year university or technical-trade school in the United States. Recipients are chosen on the background of exhibited academic performance and community service. Financial need is not a factor in determining recipients of this scholarship. Award: This scholarship is for use during freshman year. This scholarship is not renewable. Number: The number of scholarships awarded is 225. Amount: The amount of the scholarship awarded is $1,000.
Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant is required to be a high school student. The applicant should be planning to enroll full-time at a two-year, four-year college or university, or technical school. The applicant has to be a resident of Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Virginia and must show an interest in leadership. Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant is required to have volunteer or employment experience in community service. The applicant is required to have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. This scholarship is available only to citizens of the United States.
