Robert G. Porter Scholars Program-AFT Members
This is a one-time grant designed to allow for the continuing education of school teachers, paraprofessionals and school-related personnel, nurses and other health professionals, employees of state and local governments, higher education professionals and faculty. Applicants are required to have been members of the American Federation of Teachers for a minimum of one year.

Award: This grant is for use during freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior years. This grant is not renewable. Number: The number of grants awarded is up to 10. Amount: The amount of the grant awarded is $1,000.
Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant must be enrolled or anticipating to enroll part-time or full-time at a four year college or university. Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant should have volunteer or employment experience in the fields of nursing or education/ teaching. This grant is only accessible to United States citizens.
Requirements for Application: Application, personal references, essay composition, and statement of need. Deadline: March 31.
