Young American Award

This is an award given to young adults between the ages of 15 and 25, who have excelled in the fields of athletics, art, education, business, government, humanities, science, religion, literature, music, or service.  Applicants are required to have been involved in service to their community, state, or country that added to the quality of life.  Applicants are required to be participants in the Learning for Life Exploration program.

Award: This award is for use during freshman year, and is not renewable.  Number: The number of scholarships awarded is 5.  Amount: The amount of the award given is $7,500.

Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant is required to be a high school student, who is between the ages of 15 and 25.  The applicant is required to be planning or expecting to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university.  Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant is required to have volunteer or employment experience in community service.  This award is available to both United States citizens and non-United States citizens.

Requirements for Application: Applicant has to enter the contest, application, school transcript, and personal references.  Deadline: December 1.
