Robert G. Porter Scholars Program-American Federation of Teachers Dependents

This is a scholarship of up to $8,000 for dependents of affiliates of the American Federation of Teachers who are high school seniors.  All applicants are required to submit test scores, school transcript, recommendation letters, and essay composition with their applications.  This scholarship is only accessible to citizens of the United States.

Award: This scholarship is for use during freshman year.  This scholarship is renewable.  Number: The number of scholarships awarded is 4.  Amount: The amount of the scholarship awarded is $8,000.

Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant is required to be a graduating senior in high school who is anticipating to enroll full-time at a four-year university or college.  Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant must have an affiliation with the American Federation of Teachers.  The applicant or a parent of the applicant is required to have volunteer or employment experience in education/teaching or nursing.  This scholarship is only available to citizens of the United States.

Requirements for Application: Application, personal references, test scores, school transcript, and essay composition. Deadline: March 31.
