Walton Family Foundation Scholarship

This is a scholarship award for high school seniors, those students receiving a home-school diploma, or those students receiving a General Educational Development (GED)-equivalency who are children of a Wal-Mart associate who has been employed full-time as an associate for a minimum of one year.  This $13,000 undergraduate scholarship is payable over four years.  A minimum score for the American College Test (ACT) 0f 22 or 1030 for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), and able to provide evidence of financial need by the required documentation.  The application for this scholarship is available online at the following Website:  http://www.applyists.net.  Access key:  WFFS.

Award: This scholarship is for use during freshman year, and is renewable.  Number: The number of scholarships awarded is 175.  Amount: The amount of the scholarships awarded is $13,000.

Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant is required  to be a high school student who is planning to enroll or anticipating to enroll full-time at a two-year or four-year college or university.  Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant is required to be associated with the Wal-Mart Foundation.  This scholarship is only available to United States citizens.

Requirements for Application: Application, school transcript, college entrance test scores (ACT and/or SAT), and federal income tax return.  Deadline: January31.

Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Program for Children Of UPS Employees or UPS Retirees

The children of United Parcel Service (UPS) employees or retirees who live in Florida are eligible for scholarship funding to attend a vocational institution or college in the state of Florida.  The  awards may only be used for undergraduate study and range in value from $1,000 to $10,000.  Students attending a vocational institution or a community college are allowed to receive a maximum of $5,000 per school year.

Award: This award is for use during freshman year, and is renewable.  Number: The number of scholarships awarded is 1 to 50.  Amount: The amount of the scholarships awarded is $1,000 to $10,000.

Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant is required to be a high school student, who is planning to enroll or anticipating to enroll full-time at a two-year of four-year college or university.  The applicant is required to be a resident of the state of Florida and attending college in Florida.  Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant has to be associated with UPS-United Parcel Service.  This scholarship is available to both United States citizens and non-United States citizens.

Requirements for Application: Application, school transcript, and financial need assessment.  Deadline: April 15.

KFC Scholars Program

The United Negro College Fund scholarship is an award for a KFC corporate or franchise African American employee who has a minimum of one year of work experience with KFC, and who desires to seek a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, retail sales, management, restaurant management, or computer science at a UNCF affiliated school.  The amount of the scholarship is dependent on proven need.  Applicants are required to have a minimum grade point average (GPA) or 2.5 and be a KFC employee in good standing.

Award: This scholarship is for use during freshman year, and is renewable.  Number: The number of scholarships awarded is 1.  Amount: The amount of the scholarship awarded varies.

Requirements for Eligibility: The applicant is required to be African American (non-Hispanic) and enrolled or anticipating to enroll part-time or full-time at a four year college or university.  Either the applicant or a parent of the applicant should be associated with Kentucky Fried Chicken.  The Applicant is required to have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.  This scholarship is only available to United States citizens.

The Coca-Cola Two-Year Colleges Scholarship is a nonrenewable scholarship awarded on the basis of academic performance, leadership, and community involvement.  Applicants are required to be seeking a two-year degree.  Each school may nominate up to two applicants.  Applicants are required to have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5.
